MANILA, Philippines - WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao retained his backing with a questionable majority conclusiveness victory over nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas today.
The three adjudicate had scores of 114-114, and 115-113 and 116-112 for Pacquiao, who had himself on the receiving end of Marquezs brilliant counters throughout the urge.
Philstar.com had it 115-113 for Marquez, who at once again left the ring in frustration afterwards a night on which he appeared to have solved the Pacquiao puzzle.

Marquez displayed his fine counterpunching skills to frustrate Pacquiao for most of the fight.
The Filipino characterisation occassionally landed several left straights to his foes head and body, but Marquez endlessly came back with a response.
Asked if he would grant Marquez another sortie at him, Pacquiao said: Its up to my promoter. I will fight anyone, anytime.
This was a hard decision simply because Marquez is a upright fighter. His counter punching ability is at best for this particular fight that couldve made the fight a draw.
However, Manny winning by decision is not without basis, he is clearly the aggressor for the entire fight, and he had thrown and connected a lot more punches than Marquez found on the score of the three judges.
Marquez had landed the more regnant punches but he failed to finish the fight. He faded in the latter rounds giving Pacquiao the chance to come back and reconcile the victory. Marquez should have won at least one or two rounds more to win the fight.
In this issue, the main thing that is supposed to do for us to end questioning Manny Pacquiaos victory is to accept the scores given by the judges, which substantiate that he is truly the winner.
