Africa and the New World bless: Voices and Ways of Liberation in Armahs Osiris ascension by Eric Edi, Ph.D. Visiting assistant professor of Black Studies Knox College, Illinois Eric Edi (eedi@knox.edu; eedi@temple.edu) is a Fulbright Alumni and Visiting Assistant Professor of Black Studies at Knox College, IL. His areas of trouble and research include globalization, African cultures, and politics, and Black social governmental thought. Abstract This paper explores the new genus Pan African and revolutionary spile of the Ghanaian author, Ayi Kwei Armah as it appears in Osiris Rising, a novel he published in 1995. My see and analysis of the novel shows that with his intervention and his presentation of Africa, Armah marches absent from the pessimistic tone that designate his previous novels. On the black eye Osiris Rising is overflowed with an optimistic visual sensation that does not hide the indention of the road for African liberation. by dint of hardworking and victorious characters, Armah traces the focal acme and indicates the voice of the new rising Africa. Thus, Armah initiates a new conduceion for the African novel and African arts in general. Osiris Rising is the precursor of the third reference of creative production, which will be marked with African-centeredness.
Osiris Rising adopts an introspective and Africancentered approach to liberation by focusing essentially on Africa. The novel carries three sensuous values.
