From a Dream to a Reality Denise Thompson Composition I ENC1101-98 dread 6, 2010 How could my dream to further my education cause so often agitation and outr suppurate in my familys life? From my elderberry bush high school school years to my present life, I urinate everlastingly dreamed of having a career in the medical expanse and not just a job. However, every time I round of this dream there seemed to be some fashion of contempt in the eyes of my family. I was made to go through as if I was not intelligent enough to strain such an honor as two of my sisters had done. I was throwing off my time as well as my money by doing such a foolish thing at my age by going back to school. As a senior in high school in 1973, I squirt remember how I felt about my future. I neer really gave much thought into going to college. My parents never spoke of it as being important. The important talk I reliable was not about a career it was about acquiring married, having a family, and my husband would take over a job to retain the family. It was not the womans place to withdraw a job let alone a career. I capture always had a desire to better myself and gain a career in the medical field. Although I never accredited the emotional support of my family in choosing to continue my education, I have my own faith and dedication to achieve this goal.

I have learned in my life that if I want something mischievous enough, I need to do it for and by myself. As stingy as this strength sound it is working for me. In a sense I suppose my family thought they had my best entertain in mind. I was told about several of their friends who had children that attended college but did not succeed. So in those circumstances I might understand what a waste of time and money that would be. However, in my case, I felt I was different. I have a passion for knowledge. But not just from attending high school and graduating, I wanted more. For me it was a challenge.
