Mintzberg (1973) identified 10 managers roles which are figurehead, leader, liaison, monitor, propagator, example entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator, and negotiator. Robbins et al (2006) grouped those roles into those concerned with social relationship (figurehead, leader and liaison), those concerned with the transfer of information (monitor, disseminator and spokesperson) and those concerned with decision making (entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator and negotiator).
